⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ VERIFIED REVIEW FOR 250 BEST MAGIC ITEMS BOOK 3 — Pat (DTRPG Customer)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ VERIFIED REVIEW FOR 250 BEST MAGIC ITEMS BOOK 3 — William (DTRPG Customer)

"An interesting and unique combination of items with some very good ideas. Each item requiring attunement really helps balance the power levels, as well as a clear explanation in the beginning of the book as to how rarity levels are defined. I appreciate that many of the items will have extra abilities based upon the specialization of the wizard or even if the character is multiclassed into specific class combinations. The extra bit for being an illusionist or abjurer is a nice touch. Basing usage of some abilities on proficiency bonus is a nice way to keep an item relevant through more of the characters career. I bought all 5 of these [250 Best Magic Items books] as a bundle and am already using a few in my current game. The players seem to enjoy them a lot."

What to Buy Next:

Why This Book?

  • Alternative ritual magic systems for arcane and divine casters, including summoning circles, true names, effigies (similar to Voodoo dolls), and sympathetic magic (blood, hair, nail clippings).
  • Background kits for exorcists, fortune tellers, and psychics (real and frauds).
  • A complete system for generating random omens and prophecies.
  • Secular and religious festivals, rites, and holy days, which will be of interest not just to clerics, druids, monks, and paladins, but to warlock players or multi-classed arcane and divine casters, or those who worship a god of magic, as well as for pious characters who worship any god. All core (and most niche) fantasy religions are covered for every alignment. All gods are unnamed and identified only by what theme they hold dominion over (such as air, death, magic, madness, war). Each has multiple rites and festivals to choose from or you can roll randomly.
  • This book has immense practical utility for both players and GMs, and much of it is system-neutral. You can use all the omens, prophecies, religious rites and festivals with any fantasy TTRPG (like OSR) not just 5e. Anything that requires rules (such as magic systems and background kits) is designed for 5e.
